Hold the tablet face in the required position and tap Set face reference.
Why calibration is needed: when the left edge is vertical, twisting the tablet around that edge is rotation around the tablet's vertical Y axis. Gravity cannot detect that movement. This guide zeroes the gyroscope at the position you set, with alpha/yaw used only as a fallback.
